BookLiberator Software Help

The BookLiberator software processes collections of images of book pages. This processing currently includes rotating the pages so the text is right-side-up and cropping the images to remove anything that beyond the page itself. The purpose is to reduce the image to just the text, which we can then feed to an OCR engine. Future versions of BookLiberator will also handle OCR and formatting of the resulting text.

If you wish to create new pages documenting the BookLiberator software, please put them in the help namespace. That is to say, each page's name should begin with “help:”, which should be followed by the specific help topic you are writing about. See the links in this page for examples.

Help for the Tabs

Tasks in BookLiberator are organized into a series of steps. Each step is configured or launched from its own tab, and the tabs are placed on the left side of the application in a vertical list. Normal operation after opening a directory of images involves going down that list of tabs, selecting them in turn and then hitting Go!
